Niagia Santuah, PhD

Head, Social Research and Advocacy

Niagia Santuah is an independent Ghanaian scholar who combines the highest level of research excellence with a demonstrated passion for delivering impact. He has won several research grants and conducted multi-country studies in sub-Saharan Africa, notably in Benin, Guinea Niger, Senegal, Togo, Cameron and Uganda. His research interests have more recently been focusing on food systems. He holds a PhD in Culture and Development Studies.  He is a skilled facilitator and a communication scientist with over 25 years of progressive experience in developing manuals and training activists in advocacy and behavior change communication across West Africa. He developed the Community Health Volunteers’ Training Manual for USAID, the Manual for Community Level Advocacy for URC Co., LLC, and the Interpersonal Communication Training Manual for UNICEF Ghana, and used them to train various change agents.
